Realistically it probably won't happen this year but there's still a little hope and it ain't all over 'til the fat bloke sings. Much more fun at least thinking we have something to play for than already be mentally packing for the beach...
It goes without saying that we need to win all 4 games: Hendon, Sholing, Plymouth, Poole if we are to have a chance of catching Merthyr. If we don't do that then we may not even finish above Hungerford and Bracknell.
Realistically though, get 12 points out of 12 and we will finish above them both (they both have tough run-ins) and it's game on with Merthyr
Merthyr have 5 games left and need just 9 points to beat us as their goal difference is far better. We have to assume they will lose away to Totton (if we are to have a prayer). That means they need 3 wins out of the other 4. Draws won't really help them, just 3 wins.
They have Poole (a) - tomorrow Hendon (h) Winchester (a) Harrow (h)
So... if we win all our 4 and Merthyr don't win 3 of those games then we 100% may possibly make the play-offs :-)

As previuosly stated the Swans will win our last league game of the season against Poole and qualify for the play offs, subject to us gaining 3 points today!!
Also have a feeling Poole may take at least a point off Merthyr today with their new manager.

Looking at all the remaining fixtures of the four teams you wouldn’t put your house on predicting the eventual outcome. We are still in with a shout, all be it we have to win our remaining games and hope that the other three teams all slip up in their remaining games. That is a big ask but whilst it’s still possible let’s all live in hope 🙏🦢🦢🦢🦢

We’ve ballsed it now. Genuinely annoying how bad they are at game management.
If we win all three remaining games Merthyr wound jist need 5 from 4 games to pip us and Bracknell 7 from 4. Merthyr for the playoffs.

Got a horrible feeling we will miss out by the point or two & will be kicking ourselves over the amount of games we have dominated & thrown points away! Still been good season -we & Basingstoke dominated the league last year but this league has proved for both clubs to be a lot tougher!

Agree, so many silly mistakes but it’s a very tough competitive league and margins are small and I feel we will just fall short, but as you say it’s still been a great season

Just to let you know, Chesham United were well and truly on the beach already at Tiverton last Saturday. Next Saturday against Bracknell though who knows? The players, officials and fans cannot stand Bracknell so add that to the large crowd expected and they might just get a result! Would give Walton a great chance to catch them on points and you couldn't ask for a better last game than Poole at home who are awful!

Even if we don't get in playoffs its been a good season ,whoever takes over as manager the progress has been made with positivity, previous managers have taken us forward new players coming in ,just try to win the 2 final games thats all the players can do ,

What a finish to the season. Totton v Merthyr. Chesham v Bracknell. Hungerford could be the dark horse as have the easier run in and also 3 games to play. Note all the contenders for that 5th spot position all play at home on the last day of the season!!

Hungerford level on points with us but only 2 games to play not 3. We will certainly need to score some goals against Plymouth and Poole. Plymouth had tough game last night (had manager sent off) and go again Thursday. Hopefully will be spent by Saturday!
As long as Merthyr don’t beat Totton that will at least set up the chance of playoffs for last game of season and should create a big attendance

Don't want to seem pessimistic but I just can't see it happening. From being up there with the leading goal scorers the goals seem to have dried up for us. The big thing is the amount of soft goals we've conceded otherwise we'd have a much better goal difference. Hope the boys prove me wrong.

It would be a great end to the season to still be in contention on the last day of the season. I remember as some of you guys will in the 90’s going to Wokingham not only having to win but relying on results elsewhere to gain promotion as it happened we did win and results went our way and for those there it turned out to be a happy day. Let’s hope history repeats itself.
