Just been reading some of the guff on X from those deserters, about their loyalty to Scott Harris. So, did they play for Scott or for Walton and Hersham FC? How do they feel about letting the fans down?

Michael…..one reason why I have no access to Twitter or Face Book………if certain players feel that leaving club is a statement of loyalty to Scott Harris that is their right my feelings don’t matter …as a supporter it won’t effect that in any way…disappointed yes but all dynasties end ……I would prefer to think of the positives Scott and these players brought to the club and wish them all well in Reigate Priory 3rd X1 next season…( sorry Reigate I just could not remember if Godalming Town still existed)

For me it would be a great pity if the mood of supporters were to turn sour against the people who have contributed so much towards our wonderful recent history. There's bound to be an element of rawness on their part, and TwitteX is an inviting speak-your-brains platform.
I'm always interested to see where our ex-players move on to, and I wish them well, although I'll admit that a younger version of myself called Mark Wilson a "clapped-out old has-been" when he turned out for Hampton.

How do they feel about letting the fans down? This is non league football, and a at least 3 to 4 of those players came to Walton and Hersham Fc with Scott or because of him inclusive of the management team, some of which came playing way below the leagues they had been playing in to play for him.! It’s the same in many trade businesses people leave and go with there manger regularly.! Not all people will leave but some will when a manager leaves this happens in employment ALL the time.! I also think reading the thread that we are forgetting, yes one person is the manager but they work with a coaching team who also had a view as to who should and should not make the team and are allowed to.! So not always a one person decision as to who started in the line up. I personally feel and have the view that PJ, Joe, Harry Mills (who was not playing because of a very bad injury), Arsen, Eddie and Liam (when fit to play ) were all fantastic step 3 players and will likely have had plenty of offers to stay playing in step 3.! Over half the team and the above players are what have given the fans the stepping stone and rise to step 3 from Step 6 after playing way below what they could have been for far less money than they could have been earning to play with a manger they respected: That is their choice they are not on a contract and have the right to choose, maybe they did not agree with how things are being run like you do in a job, if you don’t like it you leave and that is what they have done. Freedom of choice, they did plenty for Walton and Hersham FC and even played at a lower level to help with the promotions.!!!

Continued ....I disagree that some of those players are cabable of Step 3 as feel they struggled at this level, but they were instrumental in getting us to a better place and a stella rise in recent years for which every Swans supporter is grateful and will remember as part of our positive history. Scot has been immense all through this process and i know we will all will miss him and his amazing contribiution to our club.

What's done is done. I'm very grateful for the huge contribution Scott and his players have made to our club over the last four years, and wish them all very well in the future. Indeed I hope our paths cross once more, whether that's on the opposing team or at the Hub cheering for Walton. I believe the club's still on the up though, and having narrowly missed out on play-offs in our very first season in the Southern Prem I look forward to another exciting campaign next season, hopefully with a cup run. But first we have Poole on Saturday, let's hope for decent weather, a decent crowd, give the players a decent Summer send-off, and have some decent beers.

Eddie. Scot did anything but let the fans down. He probably carried on longer than he should have done, just to not let is down. U=I think he suffered with his on high expectations and not reaching them at times. The King has gone so long live K

Natalie, you didn't say anything about letting the fans down! No one has let the fans down, in fact all of the people were committed to ensuring Walton and Hersham FC are in the amazing position they are in today.! In more ways than some people truly know.! I would not understand or even see how any fans have been let down by the people that got the team from Step 6 to step 3 and to now have the amazing opportunity to go on to leagues such as the national league. I am sorry but I cannot picture you in person Eddie but if you see me around I will be more than happy to share the details of what I know they have done in person to anyone that asks..! I feel that none of the people mentioned should have any bad feeling towards them and of whom some are local people within the community and have been throughout their whole lives they are Walton people.! They have always had this community very close to their hearts and always will do because it’s where they are from as well as there families they have always strived to be committed to their own community and could have all gone onto to other things many times.

Natalie,
There is no denying what those players had done in the past, it was the way they walked out and then on TwitteX post quotes such:
‘I want to especially say a huge thank you to the fans for the love they have shown me over that time’ and other such quotes.
Were they bothered about the fans when they walked out with three games left to play for the season? I get their loyalty to Scott and would have had respect for them if they had left at the end of the season, but to leave the club like that shows total disrespect for the fans.
Also, why are you posting under two pseudonyms (headmasters41 and this one) on this forum? Why not simply use the name Natalie Harris so everybody knows the angle you are coming from?

Hi Rob, Hope your well? To answer your questions regarding me, 1 when I set up my account it was months before the sacking of Scott and I did not find this the clearest website to work with. However, I wanted to remain anonymous to discuss my view of football for one obvious reason. The fis because I wanted to give my own opinion of the football as a supporter and someone that also brought people to the club and wanted to be entitled to have my own views and opinion without people assuming it is Scott’s.! Because that they do, I have my own always have and always will. The reasons for the 2 separate accounts was because I could not get into the first one I had set up so had to reset passwords to get in and ended up setting up a new one because it would not work. However, I never once said who I was and believe I have the right anywhere to remain anonymous?! I do not feel it is correct to be telling people my user names really? I am not sure who looked into my email address to Name me on the forum but I believe that if I didn’t want to name myself that again is my right as well as data protection rights as an I individual person that I have. I do not know who many of you are by your first name and neither do this matter. Again for anything else regarding the boys and how they left one can only assume it was unhappiness of a situation, if I were unhappy or very unhappy my company I would leave there and then even in a contract.! So my assumption is they may have been unhappy and wanted to leave.!
