So, no explanation of your accusation PMJ. No withdrawal. No apology. Don't think I want to talk to you, thanks!

PMJ: it would have been better if the Club had made those points rather earlier, without being forced to by this new board - if it didn't exist I wonder if your reasons would ever have been made public.
Hard not to feel that the Club management (a) has an attitude of overwhelming arrogance and contempt for the ordinary fan; (b) has effectively no sense of PR or of bread & butter communication skills whatsoever (with the honourable exception of Adam Bessent)

It would be seriously disheartening to see the tone of some postings on this board descend to where we were on the previous one. As a W&H virtual exile I'm keen to pick up whatever information comes from the Club and via the forums; while I feel I understand where Eddie and 1066Swan's frustrations come from, I think Paul M-J has come on to this board in good faith and I appreciate his full explanation why the website message board was taken down (wouldn't it be a PR own goal, 1066Swan, if those reasons as stated were to appear on the official site?) It's a shame he dangled the red rag with the accusation about Eddie, and for the Club's sake I hope the two of them can find a dignified way to resolve their different viewpoints.
At times I feel people are expecting a handful of volunteers to operate a PR machine to a professional standard, and I think they (not least Merv) would be entitled to feel stung by some of the comments upthread. Compared with many of the websites of our competitors we get frequent and timely updates; there's always an invitation to discuss concerns with Club representatives (though I know this isn't practical for all of us); Steve Baker seems willing to keep us posted on team matters - let's not lose sight of all that. For all I know the short notice of the Council meeting may have been down to the typical workings of local politics rather than the Club.
Come Saturday, hopefully, we'll turn our attention to the small matter of Swans winning competitive matches.

Valid points, CambridgeSwan. Let's see how the future communication goes.
I'm always wary of the comparison with others line of argument: you should be measured by your performance and not by others' lack of it.
And I don't expect professional PR; what I do hope for is some collective nous.
That being said, I'll stay quiet on this topic for a bit and see how things go over the next few weeks.

I'm not going to slag the club down, but I can understand people's frustration about lack of PR etc but hasn't this been like this for a while now? Pmj has at least kept us updated on a few things and so has Steve baker unlike previous managers like crumplin etc. I have helped the club out doing the turnstile etc for the last 8 seasons or so but unfortunately have had to step down due to work and other commitments. I am now back to being a supporter and will attend as many games as I can aswell as watching my club portsmouth. I am thinking about joining the 100 club thing but all depends on finances plus paying for the share that I brought in Pompey!!!
