On winning the League 🏆 today
A 3-0 defeat for us away to Totten all but blows any chance of the 5th play off spot with Merthyr winning, but all in all a decent first season in this Southern league 🦢

Missed you at the match today Mike!
All in all the match was a stroll in the park for Totton but their PA announced a crowd of over 1300 who failed to create any kind of atmosphere at all. Most people I spoke to at the game reckoned the crowd to be somewhere between 700-800! I also spoke to a guy on the way to the ground who said he worked for Gosport and I asked him if the posted Totton crowds were correct and he said "they exaggerate them some."
Swans were disappointing today with some of the same old frailties surfacing: misplaced passing from the back; sideways and backward looking passes when the need was to go forward in search of goals. One of my favourite quotes is from Alex Ferguson's autobiography: "Possession without penetration is a waste of time."
Totton opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a nice goal from their captain and top scorer Scott Rendell.
Totton made it 2-0 in the 60th minute, Swans conceding from a set piece again (a corner).
It was 3-0 in the 88th minute when a sloppy pass by Mitchal Gough conceded possession and Totton capitalised.

Spot on Eddie-watched the game on YouTube-Swans gameplan of 5 at the back & hoping to nick a win collapsed once the early goal went in-seems like we don't play with a centre forward anymore-done understand why Eddie Simon ,a natural goalscorer is not playing!

AFC Toton have been rigging their figures all season, they gave away about 700 STs to their youth section and count them every game if they turn up or not, I think that is something the former (now defunct) Co-tenants at the Walton Hub used to do! Was at Toton earlier in the season when they played Chesham, awful weather, torrential rain all game that no one thought would get ahead and they announced 1200 or something crowd when in reality it probably wasn't 400!

This was a bit like a pre season practice match for atmosphere……and as pointed out the frailties of the season each contributed to the downfall…..silly give always at the back ball watching at setbpieces and a puzzling lack of anyone ever getting into a good goal scoring position

Think Toton are the best side in the playoff picture and most likely to go up.

Think Toton are the best side in the playoff picture and most likely to go up. I think that's it in a nutshell. Without playing expansive eye-catching football, Totton were tough, strong, organised and incredibly well-drilled. I wouldn't be surprised if they go up with Chesham who could be described with similar words. We tried to play our game but came up against brick walls at every turn. We couldn't get past around or through their backline, and no chance of going over. It's not surprising that by the end we were hitting low percentage passes that were being picked off easily. Sometimes you just come up against a better team on the day.
