I'm none the wiser if I'm brutally honest.

Not sure why it’s taken 48hrs for this second statement, I feel there is just a little bit more to this story 🤔

If that’s the case then I kind of agree- if they said we are making a change in the summer but we would like you to remain until the end of the season, Is that so bad? Does it not seem like Scott’s pride perhaps took over and decided to walk?
If he had already offered his resignation earlier in the season then surely he felt he couldn’t do more than he had, ? Would any employer want someone running the team that had already tried to walk? What if he had stayed and half way through next season he walks? Then that’s a season ruined and written off. From my experience I’m not sure the board had much option.

The club has stated significant changes needed to be made that to me rules Billy out as a long term replacement, as that wouldn’t be a significant change replacing a manager for his assistant. I think they have already got someone lined up, someone who coaches a different style of football. I wonder who he is !!!

I can't honestly see that, IF he lives in the Weymouth area that's a 200+ mile return trip to Walton three times a week, a trip too far 😳

He was also boss at Bracknell, he may live closer than we think.

Just a thought but You don’t suppose the new manager is much closer to home, they say never go back but it could be Alan Dowson, the owners may prefer his experience and more direct style of football to push the club forward.

Why is more direct football linked to success? We would all soon be moaning about style of play if we adopted the same tactics as others!!
Has anyone ever thought about the amount of goals conceded by constantly giving possession away by going ‘more direct’? Yes we give the ball away at times at the back and yes it looks bad- but any better than Goughy launching balls into a channel that get headed back and we get countered?

I’m not saying it’s good or bad, it’s just a thought, anyone who knows Alan’s “style” (and there are many on this forum) know it’s not always pretty but his defence’s are quite frugal, maybe that is what the owners feel is needed to get to the next level

Tighten up from set pieces for sure and unearth a player to grab twenty plus league goals at least like all the other top sides and we aren’t far off.
