I’m a massive Eddie fan and agree would like to him down the middle- I think in a lot of games he was a little anonymous.

All for the club to continue to evolve and clearly the key people didn’t feel Scott was part of the new ‘football operating model’ - perhaps the resignation earlier this season planted some seeds of doubt that the current management structure had hit the ceiling.
The timing of events and Scott’s involvement and collaboration in what his exit would be (which we will never truly know) while a mute point now as the bullet has left the barrel, shows an opportunity missed to show respect is a strong value at the club for someone that has achieved and exceeded everything asked of him.
This could and should have been handled differently in my view, and if it would have been we may well have been able to say thank you and best wishes to Scott at the hub.

I agree with that sentiment and from the statement it feels to me that they offered him that but he chose to leave with immediate effect.
The alternative is to see the season out and then tell him- is that a better way?

If Scott was given the keys to the kingdom to decide how he exits then they couldn’t do anymore.
Personally I would have completed the season before sitting down with Scott, the fans on the final day would have absolutely applauded everyone involved for the efforts this season, with the consensus it’s been a successful season.
Making decisions and statements 2/3 days after we look like falling short of the playoffs feeds into the narrative (despite the statements) that it was an expectation to achieve more (imo)

Yes that’s makes a lot of sense. The guys have made mistakes and will make more in the future it’s the nature of business. It’s annoying that people jump all over their age when it comes to making decisions. In fairness much older owners with greater life skills make equally if not worse judgement calls and they will learn that.
What is clear is that they aren’t afraid to be brave and make these calls and that’s commendable. They have brought so much joy and improvements in all aspects of the club and I trust them to continue to build on this. They do also have experience guiding them which may go a little unnoticed.
It’s hard to not trust them and I have confidence that they have a plan in place and an idea of the right person to make the next step which is a very very big one.

Whatever you read into the statement the underlying fact is the club moves on. The direction that takes is unknown, but I believe that the guys who are running the club believe in the club and want continued success. Why would anyone think differently?
For those of us who have been following the club since the year dot, we know of the history where owners of the club interfered in the manager’s decisions on the field. This is something that always comes to mind and is a big concern. However, I don’t think this has been the case with the young lads who have taken over the club. Until now, everybody has been full of praise for them. There will always be decisions on and off the pitch we don’t agree with, but on the whole, nobody can say they have not brought success to this club.
At the end of the day, we have a choice: back the club and show our support to Billy and the players, or the alternative is to boycott the club and take it back down into the dark ages.
It goes without saying there will be some players moving on following this decision, and I respect that, but the club remains the most important thing.
The board, Billy and the players get my full support – See you all there on Saturday and let’s get behind them and let them know we want them to stay and grow with the club!
