AFTER a miserable year so far at last some good news
The results of the Elmbridge Council elections have just come in and it has been a remarkable success for the various Residents Associations, especially in Hersham and I believe one of the winners is Walton & Hersham's very own Anne. Meanwhile the Conservatives have been left three short of overall control and it is rumoured that the Residents will join forces with the Liberal Democrats to form the new administration. Among the casualties is John O'Reilly, the man behind the Walton Sports Hub plan for Waterside Park and the sale of Stompond Lane for housing development. It will be VERY interesting to see if the new administration decide to make any substantial changes. Watch this pace.

Congratulations Anne ! Even at this late stage hope it's not too late to turn things around in favour of our club. At very least we need to be able to hang on at Stompond Lane at least until the new stadium is ready despite the run down facilities. Good luck Anne I know you will be fighting the Swans' cause as best you can.

Well done Anne congratulations for getting elected, l don't know how you find the time to do everything you do.
It's a shame Walton & Hersham/Walton Athletic/Walton Tennis clubs site never got a total refurbishment from Elmbridge/SCC, l would have been very happy glad to pay a bit extra to Elmbridge/SCC in Council Tax to have two sports hubs in the area for something thats so useful to society in the local area, Stompand Lane is in such a loverly leafy location and is much much more beneficial/useful to the Elmbridge community, than just another not wanted totally useless housing development on the site ruining the area, so some Tory property speculator whose just in it for the money/short term profit and own selfish personal gain can make a quick buck at the local communities expense.
I thought Theresa May said the UK was not gonna be a country thats only run to benefit the rich few anymore, it's gonna be a country run for the benefit of everybody in British society, Mmmm she must have lied?

A point well made and one I try to make to Elmbridge but at this point I don't think I can honestly say what will happen one way or another but what I hope I can promise is that at last . This club will be treated in a more respectful way and equally with the other clubs there will be no more favourites. . As we all know that if we come to together as equals then agreements are much more likely and a more cohesive and positive atmosphere will be created . But I will not stop fighting to save stompond lane until no more can be done , and if that sad day comes then I hope to be part of bringing these three clubs together to get the best deal for everyone. And hopefully get some real promises for some transport links to the new site .As what is currently available is woefully inadequate

Dear Anne I echo Johnnyswans admiration of all the hard work you put in on so many projects.
Very good to hear about the improvememtn in relationships between the club and then new Elmbridge administration
One immediate way that could be underlined would be for the new administration to withdraw the seemingly vindictive eviction notice for July 31,issued to Walton & Hersham FC and Walton Athletic Club by EBC. I feel sure that notice was issued at the behest of the former Tory controlled council., despite being contrary to the strict provisos laid down by the Sports Council and the National Playing Fields Association. Surely iy would be better to withdraw it now rather than the club having to take it to court in the autumn
