IF you, like me, are worried and saddened by the bile, selfishness, greed, and bittermess that has infected public and political debate in both Britain and America, I urge you to listen to "Time of Inconvenience" by singer songwriter Nanci Griffith. It is a fine example of how popular music can embrace serious subjects and still be eminently listenable You can see it on You Tube

Looked up the video Observer thanks, sadly nobody seems to care about the "little man" anymore sadly Observer, folk are starting to rise up against the greedy establishment in both the UK & US at the moment.
It's not really surprising the unemployed little man mainly living in American rust belt areas just elected Trump...
When greedy EBC close down Stompond Lane that will tear a big bit of my heart out of me, but a least they can't ever erase my memory bank of spending many very happy Saturday's watching the Swans, Walton & Hersham FC/Walton Athletic Club/Walton Tennis Club have been much more asset to the local community in its day, than this new greedy new short term property speculators development will ever will be..

It is not surprising the "little man' voted for Trump but very foolish .The first thing he will do is reduce taxes for the wealthy and cut public spending -the rich won't give a toss as they don't use Public Services but the "little man" does! For the "little man' to vote for a man who is abolishing affordable Obama health care for all is madness. If people think this right wing racist cares for the working class they are deluded. Also these Brexit voters who believe the "little man' will be better off under right wing Trump supporters like Farage ,Redwood,Rees Mogg are misguided. It reminds me of Alf Garnett, the working class Tory -a man at the bottom of the heap voting for a party determined to keep him there. Don't forget it was Europe who forced the Tories to accept the minimum wage.more holidays, maternity leave, etc Rant over-all I would say is be very careful what you wish for!

Hi Bognor Clive
Thank you so much for your excellent reply which echoed so many of my own feelings and observations - and you managed it while remaining covil and considered. So as far as I am concerned you can go on ranting for as long as you like.
