Caretaker boss James Cameron has beefed up his Walton & Hersham forward line for a play-off push, irrespective of who is in charge at Stompond Lane.
Cameron signed Farnborough striker Jake Baxter – who scored 34 goals for Cove last season – last week as well as Hayes & Yeading attacking midfielder Jeffrey Kimoto.
The former reserve team boss, who expects to add a Ryman Premier League striker to his ranks on Thursday, also added ex-Swans centre back Jon Boswell, Farnborough centre midfielder Merrick James-Lewis to his squad.
It follows news ex-Swans boss Steve Baker, recently unveiled as the new manager at Chipstead, had returned to his former employers to recruit Warren Gladdy and Ben Hammond this week, while putting in a seven-day approach for Mark McLeod.
Julian Owusu, so at home at Stompond Lane in recent weeks, has also quit the club to join Redhill and after a hectic week – which included the late cancellation of Saturday’s trip to Hastings United – Cameron insisted it remained his responsibility to strengthen his hand whether he is replaced or not.
“With proven forwards waiting in the wings we are in a good position to kick on from what has been a reasonable start to the season,” said the manager.
“We’ll do everything in the immediate future to keep the momentum going.”
Walton & Hersham, who have a break from league action this weekend, travel to Herne Bay on Tuesday.
