Swans 2, AFC Totton 2
With 90 minutes showing on the clock Swans were almost celebrating a much improved performance having scored two superb goals to lead 2-0. It was a much changed team sheet for this game against one of the fancied teams to win this league Swans recalling two of their old favourites in Maliq Morris and Taureen Roberts alongside two new names in Hugo Few and Bailey Lamb. They also played Harry Mills up front. I guess the management team had seen the need for change in a big way to make so many changes for such a big game?
The first half was like a game of chess with both sides playing cagily. But 11 minutes into the second half the game was lit up by a brilliant goal by Harry Pointing, picking the ball up wide right, drifting on and unleashing a howitzer into the top left corner.
Then, very late in the game, some intricate play by the Swans was ended by Tauren Roberts slamming the ball home.
Two minutes into time added on drama when Totton scored after a goalmouth scramble.
And then, almost straight away, they equalised after a great run and shot by their right winger.

Thanks as always, Eddie for the report
A very disappointing result, but a much improved performance.
I thought we were unlucky not to come out with the three points; they threw everything at us at the end and as luck would go, it did not hold out for us. I felt more positive, though, considering we had a number of suspensions and injuries, we were overall the better side. For once, we seemed to mix it up a bit with passing short and sometimes long. Taurean put in a great performance, and the players seemed to have a bit of a fight. Hopefully the disastrous last couple of minutes won't throw their confidence.
I don't think we are good enough to go up this year, but at least the management realised they needed to make some changes, so I am confident in the next two seasons, we will be moving up if they can hold it together and we keep up the growing support.

I said to my pal I was watching with just after half time that we need to be aware of their No. 11 who had just been brought on as sub. I said he looked pacy and had obviously been brought on to do a job. Maybe they had spotted something on our right. Anyway, it was on the other side that he showed what he could do - scoring their second!

Oops - felt like a winner! Just a throught on Mondays match considering the changes that was a superb display by swans back to quick movement and finding space .John Gilbert and Eddie Simon showed there class and the returning players and new players all gave everything ,both teams worked hard and very competitive edge to match ,two big incidents ,on totten twitter moaning about the violence of tackle that happened by touchline and the mad and predictable behaviour of there players trying to get our players booked or sent of and abysmal refferee missing a definite pull back on Eddie Simon and some cracking goals by Harry pointing and taureen Roberts showing the ability hes allways had ,when all the players return weve got a good squad to pick from .3 away matches to come in a week and more exciting football ,Monday was a opposite off home match v Chesham United were we came back from 0.2 down to draw, and then Monday complete opposite ,great crowd off 581 ,good luck to swans in next 3 matches away to Hayes and yeading Swindon supermarine and Didcot Town, and then home to Winchester City, hope the weathers favourable and we get some points ,

Agreed much improved performance even created some goal scoring chances…though first goal was just a top class finish…looked slow down right hand side in first half …that was improved with substitutions…..still lacking quality of balls being put into box and also pose little threat on free kicks Should have won this Totton were decent but felt that was 2 points dropped rather than a point won Hopefully can keep a little more intensity going and start 2024 with a couple wins …climbing back into playoff bracket would be nice …once again decent crowd fans continue to do their bit
