Hayes and Yeading United 0, Swans 0
There is not much to say about the game except that it was bloody awful. Two sides with very little to offer in attack seemed quite content to pass the ball around at the back. Swans did show a little more urgency as the game was drawing to a dreary close. I hope the manager will explain how you can win a game without any front players: Eddie Simon left on the bench until the last ten minutes and Ibrahim Olutade also left on the bench. The one bright thing about the game was the performances of the two new players, Nana Owusu, playing wide left, and Joshua Tobin who looked very assured at the back.

Yes indeed Eddie it was like watching a game of chess with Hayes having the better of the 1st half and Walton the better of the 2nd half.
I have to say the starting line up did surprise me somewhat and I felt the substitutions should have happened a lot earlier, and not necessarily the players that were actually substituted either 😳
Hayes performance today was better than their current league position would suggest, their No2 had a great game giving us mega problems with his pace on the overlap.
* their manager and assistants were an absolute disgrace, constantly harringing the ref and linesman and contesting every decision against them often with loud foul abuse
It's got to be the worst I've ever heard in my 30+ years of watching non league footy, shame on them, and some of their fans at the end !!

Inept performance. How on earth can you play Harry, Stan and John down the right side to create chances but have not one player in the box to target. It’s a total nonsense and have no logical idea what management were trying to achieve. Eddie should have been on much sooner and in the centre forward position to. Thought Josh Tobin was a breath of fresh air in defence and my man of the match. Easily.

In our last three games we have used 22 different players! Not a recipe for consistency or success. I thought we were changing the team for the better and then some of the old favourites reappear. Tyla Dickinson, Harry Pointing, Harry Mills, Eoin Bolger, Joe Pratley-Jones, Arsen Ujkaj, Mitchal Gough, Joe Hicks, John Gilbert, Alex Kelly, Olly Allen, Ibrahim Olutade, Jake Frailing, Eddie Simon , Maliq Morris, Bailey Lamb, Hugo Few, Taurean Roberts, Josh Tobin, Anis Nuur, Stan Flaherty, Nana Owusu.

Football is such a simple game over complicated by trying to be too clever of not changing when changing is necessary. It plain to see that what’s gone before in previous seasons isn’t working as well at in this higher league and yet nothing changes except the use of more players. Eddie is right, there are some players we are falling back on who are not up to this standard. I know budget is a problem and limits us. Eddie scored 40 goals last season and now he is either on the bench or stuck out on the wing and no threat to anyone. We need a goal scoring striker playing in the centre forward roll and we have him.... Eddie,, This new stoker we’ve been playing either loses his balance or falls over every time he goes near the opponents centre half. A centre halves dream,, We can look at formation, we can look at team selection but just sometimes we need to look at management toons they should be talented enough to accept this mistakes and resolve. With Gough back for the next game what’s going to happen to Josh Tobin who I thought was perfect at this standard and was impressive. I never thought I would say this but we have no firepower now and no real threat to the opposition as we continue with slow build ups. Rant over. Let’s hear from other fans with their honest opinions

I didn’t see today’s game I had to go bring in hay…don’t ask?….but everything I read here seems a continuation of what has been happening for 4-5 weeks now If these are right players then that’s fine but I don’t think we are playing to players strengths …are players fragile ego,s being accommodated at expense of people in right places…Eddie is a threat from inside the box last week he was marking himself standing 50 yards from goal The tactic of playing out is great but you need players who can play 1 touch and 2 touch football…..the system needs constant movement this has almost dried Ot sure these days what budgets are or even what players are making …..massive need for a couple midfielders who can take people on ankle get Eddie back where he belongs 12 yards out feeding on scraps Averafpge crowds of close to 600 should be enough to keep Walton going pretty well….but this is an expensive division…saw that NPL side Marske folded their Men’s senior team this week

Lot of criticism around today-I have only watched highlights this season so probably my views are not as valid as other posters but here we go ! We are sort of upper mid table with a play off chance-would we have taken this at start of season? This league is very competitive, much tougher than last season, just look at Basingstoke who were outstanding last year! Most games hinge on tight margins which early on tended to go in our favour but lately gone against us.Some of this I agree has been self inflicted by this constant obsession with maintaining possession at the back.We have good ,rather than outstanding players at this level & the league table doesn't lie! Re new players Nana the guy on the left looked to have a bit of game changing unpredictability about him.,& the new defender looked very steady. The one criticism I do agree with is not using Eddie Simon-natural scorer ,his strengths are in the box! & he is a match winner!

It's a season of consolidation - surely folk can see that - they are trying to get it right but you can't just fill gaps with anyone and those we might like to sign want far too much money, one recently wanted £700 a week and £50 a goal!! We have no-one on even remotely close to that whereas some teams in this League do.
People keep saying why is Eddie on the left but he has played there since halfway through last season and got his 4 hat tricks from that position!! Keep the faith, we will improve and if we even make close to the play offs that's a hell of a season after 3 successive promotions already

Hally your not wrong but winning is a drug and three seasons of success and a solid start to this campaign has created huge expectancy…..as you point out some players want silly silly money…but Walton are in top 5 or 6 in the league in attendance so expectancy is they are not a poor impoverished club any more
The style of football has changed and also the standard and some players are not good enough at this level…and there has been significant turnover this year…one of the problems now is not just footballing ability but knowledge of systems and roles within a system
Possession game is about not giving the ball away ….watch the difference tonight between Wigan and Utd and Wigan just kept giving the ball away…..same play from the back but the half way line was like he Berlin Wall…exactly like Walton v Gosport and Merthyr
Still want Eddie in the box at this level he doesn’t have the pace out wide midfield …need one or two widemen with pace and at least one central player who can run at defenders …that creates space for everyone else
Consolidation is so much sweeter when team is winning just making the playoffs would be better than excellent…keeps the fans involved…and that’s a huge part of success

Couldn't agree more old codger. Success breeds success and Swans have built up a huge fan base quite quickly. But to keep large numbers coming you have to entertain them and last Saturday was not entertaining at all. It's just frustrating to watch. I know you can only work with the tools at your disposal but don't think we are making the most of our squad. We keep playing players out of their natural positions.

Its great to share opinions and i will stick with mine that Eddie is a proven goalscorer both skilful and sharp and should be in the box as again last saturday we has three exceptional creative players playing down the right side but no one in the box to take advantage of the ball when delivered into the penalty area. It just didnt make any sense at all.
