A bad day at the office for Walton as they gave all 3 goals away from our own defensive mistakes, Cheshams 1st goal coming after 3 minutes, and 2 down by half time.
A 3rd goal followed in the 2nd half for the hosts who could have added to their tally only for Tyla to save a penalty.
We lacked penetration and had very few clear cut chances against the League leaders who were solid if not the most attractive side in this league, but showed why they are top of this league.
Need to sort our leaky defence out !!

"Easy, easy, easy," chanted the Chesham fans at the final whistle and they were absolutely correct, it was easy for them! Suicidal football from the Swans to concede possession in their own penalty area after three minutes. Then a punt downfield by the Chesham 'keeper led to another and then 15 minutes from the end we did it again: conceding possession to gift a goal to the opposition. If it hadn't been for a great display by our 'keeper it would have been much worse.
Three minutes in and Swans conceded after giving the ball away in their own area and then conceding a corner following which the ball was forced home.
In the 42nd minute Chesham made it 2-0 with a route one goal: keeper long kick headed on to forward who slammed it in.
On 60 minutes Chesham were awarded a penalty which the league’s top scorer, Ricardo German, took and his kick was saved by Tyla Dickinson.
In the 76th minute disaster: Swans gave away possession again and German knocked it in without bother.

This suicidal pissing about with pretty triangles in your own penalty area is not peculiar just to Walton. How many times does the ball get passed around backwards & forwards to the goalkeeper only for him to launch it upfield ,when he could have done it several passes early-what is the point?

I don't think it is to massage the managers ego. Scott & Billy have given us three consecutive promotions, there will come a point when that has to stop. At that point they need to build on what we have.
They are a young team and a lot of talent, but we also need some experience at this level that will fit in with our style of football.
I have said before and I don't want to bore you all, but we need to improve our defence, it's not about playing out from the back, it's about knowing when.
The management has my full support, one year in this division, finding the right system will be worth it in the end.

Rob,This is not a criticism of the Walton managers-they have done a great job! It is a criticism of the system in general-every week on Match of the Day you see needless goals being given away!

Agree BC, although we are starting to mix it up a bit with playing out short and the odd long ball, defenders dwelling on the ball and lack of pace is what is causing our problems IMO

We have one of the leakiest defences in the league and most know you build from the back and are strong under pressure. I would play a 4-1-4-1 formation with Joe Hicks in front of the back four and a fifth midfielder going forward with the talent we have in midfield with Stan,John,Alex,Harry and the new midfield signing would be a handful moving forward with Eddie as our striker. We then have a strong defence of 5 whilst defending. 5 players going forward with Joe holding and the rest of our midfielders supporting Eddie when in the attack. We have the players but just lack structure big time. It’s clear we need to have a strong back four as we look so vulnerable whenever u dear pressure and have done all season. We Need to re adjust as this league is a whole lot more experienced and talented than we have faced. It is a learning curve but we cannot close our eyes to the fact we need to change our formation mentality. Everyone has worked hard to get us to where we are from Anne on the turnstiles to the pitch side cafe to the increased support and management on and off the pitch so come on and just do not move forward with eyes closed.

Richard ....
It's not about moaning, it's watching the team week in and week out and seeing where our problems are, and anyone can see it's our defence, demonstrated by our amount of goals against, so that's all people are commenting on, and IMO the defending is getting worse in the last few games I've watched.
I'm happy the way the Club is progressing, the management team and the increased fan base and marketing of the Club generally.
If we are destined to be a mid table team for this season that's fine, I believe the players will come good in seasons to come (IF they stay with us)
You've got to get away from this constant "negativity" you keep accusing loyal fans of, everyone is entitled to their opinion and our common goal is the betterment of our Club that is certainly on the up 💪

Richard to quote what you said ... "Loads of moaning about the way we play"
I would put it as observations by fans

Only saw the highlights so no moans about individuals….team is playing a system that’s ultra popular …about possession, touch and shape…BUT need a higher skill level at this level as players have less time on ball ….system is predicatable and because of that breaking down..all about playing the way you face ,supporting player with ball and providing options …..right now too many links not functioning…when Chesham got the ball they ran at Walton ….better organized team stronger in key areas….yes not pretty football but as Maidstone proved at weekend game is not about pretty about results….I am sure Scott is frustrated …as has been pointed out there is no open check book ….still missing couple quick players they could make a huge difference…good luck Saturday
