Another poor performance against another poor team. Beaconsfield didn't need to do much to win this game. They were outplayed for the entire 90 minutes but did what matters to win: they scored two goals from free kicks and that was about all they did. Swans scored a consolation with practically the last kick of the game.
Beaconsfield took the lead on the stroke of half time when a mysterious free kick was headed home by an unmarked player, they had hardly been in the game.
Same again in the last knocking of the game: free kick headed home with no defenders anywhere near the scorer.
Sub Jake Frailing brought some semblance of urgency to Swans and was rewarded when he scored a nice goal, bending the ball into the far corner from the left side of the area.

I thought from front to back we were outstanding and switched off for two set pieces. Beaconsfield were well drilled and organised defensively but itโs gutting to lose to them. We lacked a little cutting edge but in another day we could make those spaces pay and really batter some one. Please keep the faith as you can see the progression and I feel we are building for next season being realistic and we should be very proud of them. Josh Tobin was superb as was Alex Kelly. I felt perhaps John Guilbert should have started ahead of Anis as he brought a lot more threat.

There are certain players that should always automatically be in the starting line up and John Gilbert is one, subject to availability/suspension.

I would love to see him a little more central around Eddie perhaps rather than out wide

Just watched some of the game. What was Bolger doing for the their second goal? He appears to duck down as the ball went over him!! Any good defender knows you jump, even if you cant gat the ball, you jump as it will put off the atacked behind him nine times out of ten.. Also too much ball watching and no awareness where opponents are at dead ball situations. These are basic diciplines with any good defender.

I thought the very same at the game, I doubt he would have reached the height to meet the ball, but at least jump to put their forward off instead of giving him a free header ๐

Get your positioning right in the first place mark the forward tighter instead of standing off him

Pleasure to listen to a sensible level headed manager as I have to say the same for Scott Harris. Makes a change from some of the foul mouthed morons we get down at Pagham fc!
