Best of luck for Saturday and Tuesday's games vs Folkestone and Leatherhead both away. Sorry I can't make it but hope to be back in time for the home game vs Ramsgate a week Saturday. Before the season started I quite fancied Folkestone for promotion bearing in mind their plethora of top class strikers. I am sure they will come good. Leatherhead is another tough game: they are second in the league with a game in hand and a better goal difference. Their manager (Richard Brady) reckons their squad is the best he's worked with and also that they haven't started playing well yet! Come on you Swans!

Sure, but you don't expect to be 2-0 up against ten men and still lose.... and against a team bottom but one. First shock was hearing the teams announced - Tim Roberts in goal for... Folkestone!!! What happened there then this last week? Not much to show between the teams to start with: Swans seemed more skilled but they just weren't shutting down the opponents. Got a break on 23 mins when a home player got a straight red for throwing the ball at one of our guys. Then goals on 36 & 38 mins from McLeod and McShane, both left unmarked just inside the area and firnly struck shots. 2-0 Swans though Folkestone had had chances too. But on 45 + 2 our keeper parried well only to be beaten by a blistering angled return volley. Folkestone equaliser 3 or 4 mins into second half, I didn't see it, I was using the facilities. Goal 3 on 61 mins, great big hoof by keeper and a chase, their guy got it to hook over our keeper. Pity as I thought we'd just had our most positive spell of the match. But now it seemed to go pear shaped, no shape in our play and I'm not sure I agree the substitutions. On 86 mins red card for our Louis Glace-Palmer, a forceful clash in their penalty area that looked 6 of one half dozen of the other to me. And on 90 + 2 hopeless failure to clear our lines gave them a chance to drive home the fourth. Team: Harper; Thompson, Lomas, McLeod, Dyett, Thomas, Hammond, Scarlett, Turl, Onieva, McShane; subs (only 4): Grayland, Glace-Palmer, Cascoe, Kabuye 66 mins Cascoe for Onieva; 75 mins Glace-Palmer for Turl; 82 mins Kabuye for Thompson.

I think expectations have been set too high due to the good start we had. Remember we had a good start last year and look what happened. If we can come in the top 10 this year with a team just getting to know each other, retain the best players and grow that team in a few years we could have a great team. There has been good football played and results and some bad refing has gone against us.
And for sure there is going to be some inconsistency in results there always is at this level, not sure why, but at the moment we do have a lot of suspension so lets keep behind the team as there is a great spirit at the club, with players and fans, that we cannot afford to lose unless someone comes along with a pot of gold.

It's not the playing side I'm moaning about its the sending off's that is ruining it. The refs seem to have it in for us but opposition players are doing their best to get players sent off and it's ruining matches for us. It's not much fun at the moment.
