Player Update
Hi All,
The last 2 weeks has been a very busy time in trying to bring in new players to a currently very small squad, depleted by injuries, suspensions and unavoidable loses. However after lots of phone calls, car journeys and midnight calls to Merv I am pleased to announce the below signings:
Players Coming in
Samad Kazi
A quick and very talented young winger who has a real eye for goal. I have been trying to sign him since he played against us pre season and finally secured his signature last Monday.
Ben Dyett
Very talented young centre half signed from AFC Hayes
Dan Buckle
Vastly experienced centre forward who’s previous clubs have included Harefield, Walton Casuals, Lewes and Harrow Borough
Johnny Montgomery
Very talented and gifted midfielder who as well as playing non league football in the Evo Stik Central has represented Northern Ireland at youth level and also for the senior international B team. We are currently awaiting international clearance before he is available.
Milan Stojsavljevic (or Milan as he’s known !)
18 year old goal keeper on loan from Aldershot Academy who last year also had a spell on loan at Hampton and Richmond
Jack Ward
6ft 3”, 20 year old centre half/left back who was released at the end of last season by Brentford F.C
As well as the above we have the return of Warren Gladdy this Saturday and Greg Ngeo’s potential return mid October. This will give the squad a huge lift and create real competition for places. Something we have lacked over the last couple of weeks.
Players Leaving the Lane
Tim Roberts: Despite be given the chance of 1st team football by Walton and then giving me his word he would not leave following an approach from Folkestone FC, I received a text from his so called agent 3 days before last weeks game to say he had left and that he would be playing against us that week. This left us with no recognised 1st team goal keeper at the club and with no time to replace him for the Saturday. Clearly I will not be inviting Tim over for Xmas dinner this year!
Arafat Kabuye: Yassa (as he is known) has had very few opportunities and has today signed for Ascot United. He is a real decent lad and we wish him all the best
James Awofisan: James has not technically left the club but due to a very heavy university schedule and travel difficulties he has had to take a break from football for the moment but may return shortly. I will update as and when
If you do have any further questions on any of the above or just a questions in general feel free to ask (football only please)
