Blast from the Past Whilst on holiday I was as usual talking football with some fellow holidaymakers and casually mentioned I used to go and watch W & H ,and a chap overheard me and said I used to play for Walton many years ago. It was none other than Clive Foskett, hatrick hero from the Brighton game. Really nice guy,now retired and virtually bald like the rest of us! He doesn't keep in touch with any of the old team-but he really enjoyed his time at Walton, and joked about how he was interviewed on the Eamonn Andrews show after the Brighton and how Brian Clough never even congratulated Walton on their win. He did confide in me that Walton were one of the biggest payers in those days-he was on £20 a week plus expenses and apparently Roger Connell & Kieron Somers were on enough not to have to work! His only regret was after scoring a lot of goals that season he was the sub in the Amateur Cup Final. Great Times!

A great story Clive great times was nice to watch the Swans put 4 past Brighton, best of all Fozzie must have been the only player to ever shut Cloughies big mouth up, what is the chance of two Swans Clive's meeting like this? Fozzie was such a industrious a great little player he just never gave up always gave 110%, sounds like Clive was going though a bit of a Jimmy Greave's 1966 World Cup moment in 1973 FA Amateur Cup (You tend to forget what must be going though players minds at the time) Fozzie was a winner has my upmost respect just like Greavey, but competition was tough for Swans 1st team place in 73.
My biggest regret was not going down the Hersham British Legion with my Mum & Dad after the Walton Hop (like l normally did on a Saturday night at the time) after when we won the Amateur Cup in front of 42,000 at Wembley. I got caught up in the euthoria with friends went down the Bear for a beer instead, got home Dad said you never guess who was down at the Legion tonight, a few of Swans players turned up at the Legion tonight celebrating, yea and Mum even had a dance with Willy Smith my favourite Swans player at the time, that pissed me off big time.
Thanks for posting Cambridge Swan, it brings back those aah memories of hazy sunny times when the Swan's used to beat Dagenham, Woking & Wycombe in front of 2000-3000 at Stompond Lane in league games, those were the days happy days, mind you watching the 14 goals we got recently in two cup games brought a big happy warm glow smile to my face.
