Driving down Stompond Lane and seeing a boarded up construction site, the back of the main stand being demolished was heart breaking ... onwards and UPWARDS for W&HFC

Bricks and mortar may be destroyed Mike but many golden memories will always live on ! However must be a sad scene nevertheless.

Just over a year since we left stompond lane they've started building the houses and we are at where we are, but we go forward despite the problems that we face .

Yea there there are new homes popping up where the turnstiles use to be where you use to help out Richard, and on the running track where you where you doubled up as the CCL oldest ball boy. Tennis club got a swanky new driveway out of the deal by the looks of it, the little park next to it has a couple of 10 x 4 wooden eyesores at the entrance that will probably end up a car park for the tennis club, the immigrants that lived in the bushes behind the clubhouse in the park have moved on out probably living in one of the transit vans that line park-up in Waterside Road in Walton.
Always park in Stompond Lane whenever we go shopping in Walton and get a nice healthy walk into to the town centre and 2 hours free car parking, apart from Saturdays when the parking is free all day behind where the Walton Council offices used to be (next to the cricket club ), where thousands turned out for FA Amateur Cup winning teams reception after winning the cup, another great building demolished by EBC. Still at least EBC can't erase demolish my memory bank from winning the Athenian League Champions in the late 60's to that last 7-0 thrashing Simon & lads give Chertsey Town last year and many hundreds of happy days spent there watching the Swans, as much as trophyless Casuals fans that look in on here would like to erase my memory bank they won't l will carry my many memories those happy days spent at Stompond Lane with me to the grave.
Onwards and upwards forwards we go Richard hopefully not down to CCL Division 1, just escaping relegation will be like winning a promotion we won't have to do at a later date in Division 1. We can't even afford to run a reserve team at the moment in the Premier we are gonna struggle with just the Xcel huge menu of costs with just the two main revenue streams EBC council have left us with - gates money/programme revenue in front of crowds of 12 in the one man & his dog CCL league 1 against BA in a league where you get more players on the pitch than are watching the game.
Very sad sight to see Richard, will have to move-on go forward go shopping in Woking in the future after decades of parking in Stompond Lane to avoid it when the housing development is completed l am am finding it to upsetting to park in/pass by Stompond Lane when we shop in Walton. Will probably be moving out the area like fred has in the next few years my minds made up there is not much keep us here in the area now Richard, will retire move forward somewhere down on the South coast like Sussex Exile & Bognor Clive to free up the equity buy a second home in the sun abroad Brexit permitting for some winter sun.
Will always follow the Swans fortunes forever, EBC can't take that away from me. Walton & Hersham FC have totally lost their identity at the Hub it has been replaced by a one-sided sea of orange, best we can hope for is both clubs fight together to get their old revenue streams back again we had at Stompond Lane which would help pay for some decent players. All 3 clubs that share this new council home need to fight together to get back their old revenue streams back from EBC and be allowed to stamp our own identity on match days on the ground, maybe by having separate Stags/Swans bars at each end of the clubhouse maybe with signage boards that flip around from red Swans Bar sign to orange "Good luck message from the Swans" on it on Casuals match days, and a "Stags bar" that flips around in red "Good luck from the Stags" so we can both keep identities and the huge revenue streams from bar takings and club house revenue fund raising events without having to rent the clubhouse from EBC or watching EBC cream off all the bar taking profits, the Athletic have plenty of room to build them their own clubhouse at the side of the track, EBC made £20 million fortune from selling Walton & Hersham/Walton Athletic club it's about time they put a bit back, Casuals have had £100,000 from EBC to keep them afloat have lost nothing. We should both have had a separate programs/sovinior/tea/burger a single shop/half time refreshment hut one built for each club with similar signage boards that flip round in red or orange on the other side, red on Casuals huts boards for Swans home games, orange on Swans huts boards for Casuals home games that flip around, same could be done with boards around pitch giving both clubs their own identity back on match days.
EBC have been just to plain greedy stealing both clubs revenue streams. It's about the same as moving three families into one council house charging them an absolute fortune more for renting and a long list of things on Xcel menu price options list, at the same time telling the tenants that they must only by buy all their expensive beer/food/burgers only from EBC at extortionate prices as part of tenancy agreement, Walton & Hersham ended up all fur coat and no knickers can't afford even a reserve team team now, in a ground thats covered in orange with a ground at match days that has all the warmth of HMP Pentonville sports ground, no wonder Smithy kept quiet & communication was zero during the transition to the Hub he sure did strike a good deal. Forward and upwards 3 points on Saturday.
Come on you Swans

1969 swan Great memories at the lane and away over the years but nothing this season and mist the hammering of chertsey this season only to see the pathetic disaster recentley , we have to move forward but that seems difficult in the position we find ourselves in , with yet another new manager and more new players having to quickly settle in , not a great position to be in but whilst there's hope we must just go for it , otherwise relegation is looming , both Hampton and Woking have had good cup runs ,

Noticed that from the Hersham Road gate entrance to Stompond Lane sports ground, there is still one of the very old green turnstiles, probably cemented to the ground ?
Something that the developers have either forgotten to remove, or will leave as a lasting reminder of the last time they were used for a game (FACup?) back in the 1970's ?.
Who can remember the last time the Hersham Road entrance was used?

Thanks Richard. Perhaps someone should jump the fence, like we used to do in the 70’s and get them dug up for posterity.

Between the two chairman we've had small amounts off succsess but just basically survived , on the odd moments off succsess nothing like the past , buts that's well gone and now we face games in more Parkes , or nothing and just end years of great moments and end it with mediocrity , and failure ,

Get those turnstiles while you can !!
Unfortunately a similar situation at Staines Town, who appear to be really struggling with ground and playing issues.
A real shame, but too late for lessons to be learned about running and managing a football club.
